Following the free agent market is incredibly important for fantasy football success. First, you scour the blogosphere (that is still a thing right?) for articles about the "waiver wire" (you should check out our waiver wire article every Tuesday!) and see what previously unknown stud will replace one of your duds from the past week.

But what if you did not manage to snag one of those players? What if you had low waiver priority, not enough time with a busy work week, or too much to drink watching Monday Night Football? Well, then you would probably want to know who is still left once the first batch of add/drops clear early Wednesday morning.

Luckily for you, we at The Lateral had the same thought, so every Wednesday we are going to let you know the top players still left in over 50% of Yahoo leagues and 50% of ESPN leagues. Below you will find one for each position, and why they are the addition your team needs. You will also find who were the players everyone added to get ready for their next match-up, and which players got left in the dust to make way for the new guys.

Week 8 Movers & Shakers

Top Players Left on the Board Yahoo Leagues

QB: Tua Tagovailoa (30% rostered Yahoo/22.9% rostered ESPN)/Teddy Bridgewater (48% rostered Yahoo/36.1% rostered ESPN)

My picks for the QBs to add on waivers this week are still widely available, though Teddy Bridgewater is quickly disappearing from the free agent pool.

RB: Carlos Hyde (18% rostered Yahoo/30.9% rostered ESPN)/Deejay Dallas (7% rostered Yahoo/3.4% rostered ESPN)

My pick at RB is still available, probably because of injury concerns. I think he will still play against the 49ers, but if you are concerned, then pick up next man up Deejay Dallas instead.

WR: Corey Davis (31% rostered Yahoo/28.8% rostered ESPN)

Aiyuk is now gone in the majority of leagues, but my other pick Corey Davis is still out there! Get him while you can!

TE: Richard Rodgers (18% rostered Yahoo/13.8% rostered ESPN)

My waiver pick Richard Rodgers is still widely available and still not competing for targets at TE, a position the Eagles love to target.

DST: Miami Dolphins (14% rostered Yahoo/14.2% rostered ESPN)

My pick is still on the board, probably due to a tough match-up this week against a Rams team that was firing on all cylinders against the Bears in Week 7. But guess what? That Bears DST still scored 9 points and finished DST6. Miami has been good so far and smart managers could pick up a DST with ROS value while other managers hesitate over the match-up.

K: Randy Bullock (44% rostered Yahoo/63.5% rostered ESPN)

... I have no words. Bullock actually dropped 2% in rostership for Yahoo leagues. Do you not want wins??
.
Top Players Left on the Board ESPN Leagues

QB: Derek Carr (36.6% rostered ESPN/33% rostered Yahoo)
/Teddy Bridgewater (36.1% rostered ESPN/48% rostered Yahoo)

Charles' pick for QB is also available, and I wanted to make sure to highlight Bridgewater here since he is significantly more available in ESPN leagues.

RB: JaMycal Hasty (36.7% rostered ESPN/27% rostered Yahoo)/
La'Mical Perine (18.4% rostered ESPN/20% rostered Yahoo)

Charles and I are both pretty stoked on both of these RBs, especially Perine, who could be the starter for the Jets going forward. Hasty should be good value for this week, but may find himself as a change of back RB if the Niners start getting healthy again.

WR: Brandon Aiyuk (43.2% rostered ESPN/55% rostered Yahoo)/
Donovan Peoples-Jones (0.9% rostered ESPN/1% rostered Yahoo)

Aiyuk should not be available in more than 50% of leagues. Get him now. I also will shout out Charles' pick this week at WR, Donovan Peoples-Jones, who is available just about everywhere.

TE: Harrison Bryant (5.5% rostered ESPN/2% rostered Yahoo)

Honestly Rodgers is still the TE to target here, but Bryant had a great performance in Week 7 and should be able to repeat against Las Vegas in Week 8 if Austin Hooper is still out. Charles' picks Dallas Goedert and Logan Thomas are still widely available if you need a more long-term solution and can afford to roster a TE you will not use this week.

DST: Los Angeles Chargers (44.4% rostered ESPN/74% rostered Yahoo)

Charles' pick is still somehow on the board despite a good match-up against Denver in Week 8. Go get them.

K: Jason Myers (15.8% rostered ESPN/24% rostered Yahoo)/
Jason Sanders (22.1% rostered ESPN/11% rostered Yahoo)

Since Charles picked a kicker this week, I am going to mention Myers, who I personally do not love since I see Seattle's TD% only regressing slightly with the WR corps they have. It is more about the opportunity than the talent, which is certainly there. Personally, given me the other Jason, who is K3 through seven weeks despite going on bye in Week 7.
